Mommy-cation

Can you believe this is the Oregon Coast!

Mica and Mommy

Just so you know he was there.

There is just something cute about little feet on the beach.

Group photo :)

This week a friend of mine rented a house on the beach and invited me and the kids to stay with her and her kiddos. There were 3 of us moms in all and 5 kids between us. Id like to say it was a relaxing vacation but I don't think that will be true for about 10 years :) We did have fun though in spite of chasing 5 crazy toddlers at the beach. Mica was so excited to play in the water even though she was only aloud to get her feet wet this time. It was cold and windy (typical Oregon coast) but she didn't seem to mind. The best part was on our way out of town when just Mica and I were able to get some fun pictures at an overlook. I cant wait until we can have just a girl trip and really have fun.

Happy 4th

We celebrated the 4th of July by watching the parade in the morning and then my Dad and Sister came over with her kiddos. We stayed up way too late and watched the fireworks with the kids. It made for a very long day but they loved it.

Cowgirl

We went to our local rodeo Friday night and Mica had so much fun! She watched the cowboys fall of the horses and she said "Mommy, he needs to hold on with both hands!" something I tell her a lot - use both hands :) I think the best part of the evening was when her daddy surprised her with a pink cowgirl hat. She loves it and wares it all over the house. I'm betting someday Ill look out in the backyard to find her sporting the cowgirl hat while doing yoga in her underwear. I will make sure to have the camera ready if this happens. Good times!

4th of July Kiddie Parade

Mica in the festive dress that I made for her.

MOMS Club float

Yesterday Mica, Kayden and I waked in the Kiddie parade for our town. Our MOMS Club had a float that we all helped to make. We won first prize for having the best theme and decorations - yea moms! Mica had so much fun walking with me and handing out little paper flags to all the kids watching. When all our flags were gone she ran up and helped hold our banner up. She thought it was great fun to run around town and say hi to all the people.

We Made it to 6 Months!

Yea! Kayden is half a year old now. He is 22 pounds and 28 inches long. Still in the 95th percentile for everything - just like his father, an over achiever :)

Morning Yoga

We were trying Tree pose I think we got sapling :)

Kayden's favorite pose.
(please don't look too close at his outfit I just grabbed some pants so he could go outside :)

Cobra pose? or maybe Garden snake
Mica loves to play "exercise" and she has been taking my yoga mat out by herself and working out in the back yard. So cute, I guess I have a new exercise buddy. And who doesn't love to go out in the morning and do yoga in their pajamas and underwear. She really knows how to start the day off right.

Strawberry Fields For. . . About 30 min. :)

I was so excited to go pick strawberries this summer with Mica. We have been reading a Strawberry Shortcake book and it has been one of her favorites. So I thought picking them would be really fun for her. Sigh, I should have known better. Because I had great plans of picking mounds of berries and bringing them home to make my very first batch of strawberry jam. Well, as you can see we brought home enough for a good snack. We did have fun and Mica did like it (for half an hour) so it was a good adventure. But next time I will have to do the serious berry picking on my own.

Good Bye German Sister :(

Mica and Kayden with their "German" sister
We had to say good bye to our exchange student Kate. It was so much fun hosting again and we were lucky to have another good one :) Kate really became Mica's best friend and enjoyed playing with her and the other "big girls" that came over. Just the other day Mica got on her toy cell phone and called Kate to tell her it was time to come home. So cute but so sad. We love you Kate! And we look forward to your visit someday!
